Aerial Photography

I’ll never forget the first time I got to fly in a helicopter for a photo assignment. The pilot would ask me where I wanted to be and then basically park the helicopter at that spot. It was an amazing experience to be able to put my camera anywhere in the sky. That was in 2005 and the only way to get those shots was to book a helicopter — it was a great option but also very expensive.

Now you can get the same results with a quad copter and a nice camera. In addition to getting compelling images  from unique perspectives in the air, aerial photography is also very useful for doing practical things like height checks for new construction or additions — you can see what the potential views will look like before you start construction. Aerial images are also a great option for showing acreage for ranches and other larger properties as well the layout of residential and commercial lots in urban areas.
