About Will

Thank you for taking a few minutes to look through my site. I am a commercial photographer living and working in Austin, Texas. I have always had a hard time staying still and have been active my entire life so I guess it was natural that I gravitated towards location photography. Studio work is nice, but nothing beats packing up your gear and taking the show on the road to see what kind of pictures you can make.

My mentor and good friend Dennis Fagan has always said, “Any day making money with your camera is a good day!” And he’s right. On any day I’m shooting I feel like I’ve got the best job going.

I really enjoy working with people who create things — from jewelry designers to package goods manufacturers to restaurant owners to home builders. One of the best parts of my job is shooting the creations of incredibly talented people from all walks of life.

Most of my portrait work is of people in their natural surroundings either at work or at play. I hated sitting in front of a fake backdrop and getting my picture taken when I was a kid and to this day I would much rather shoot portraits in front of real backdrops that have a connection to the subject.
